When you visit Bukhara for the first time, you feel yourself as a time traveler to a history that extends over a thousand years.. This city insists on wearing the dress of its ancient past and ignoring the calls for modernity and change.
While walking in the city, I felt as I was watching a documentary movie that captured the story of a city that had a great role in spreading cultural and religious knowledge at that time.. All Muslims around the world still remember the names of greatest religious scientist who came from Bukhara and contributed in adding a great Islamic heritage that was passed through generations and kept it alive and worth trusted till this day.

What I really liked in this city is preserving its religious identity of the mosques, schools and shrines without allowing any contamination or affect from other culture.

Bukhara is a small city and you could walk there easily. Two days will be sufficient to stroll through the city, enjoy visiting its beautiful markets that are full of ceramic puppets and visit all astonished monuments that are added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
